Patrick plays and teaches the clarinet, saxophone and flute, and is based in London.

Patrick Davies is a classically trained clarinettist who regularly doubles on all sizes of flute and saxophone. He works with orchestras and chamber groups as a clarinettist, and in theatre pits as a reed player.

 

This year Patrick has performed with the Pro Youth Philharmonia, London Mahler Orchestra, London Musical Theatre Orchestra and the West End Theatre Orchestra. He plays shows in theatres across the UK, including most recently West Side Story at the Curve Leicester and The Phantom of the Opera on Guernsey. Chamber music performances have taken him to the Muzeum Fryderyka Chopina in Warsaw and the Royal Opera House Covent Garden.

Appearances as soloist comprise recitals and concertos, including Stanford's Clarinet Concerto with the Innovaris Orchestra, Giacinto Scelsi's Kya with the Guildhall School's Ubu Ensemble, Weber's Second Clarinet Concerto with the Bournemouth Youth Orchestra, and Mozart's Clarinet Concerto with the Leighton Buzzard Sinfonia. In 2018 Patrick competed in the final of the Westbourne Concerto Competition.

Patrick recently graduated with distinction from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama's Masters programme, where he was awarded the prestigious Concert Recital Diploma for high distinction in a final recital. While Studying at the Guildhall School, he was selected for performance opportunities with the London Symphony Orchestra and Shanghai Opera House, and broadcasts for BBC Radio 3.
